Palazzo Lombardo - called " La Fortezza" because of the majesty of its façade Florentine ashlar-work ( bugnato fiorentino) which recall the colours and the typical tonalities of "the Palazzo Pitti" architecture. Its an unusual building, being elegant, interesting and full of personality place: This authentic antique residence, divided in two units, has become one of the most sought as a "boutique hotels" in the city.

The building, constructed by the florentine Francesco Lombardo, who at the beginning of the 20th century built marvellous villas for the Princes of Egypt in Cairo and Alexandria, has a privileged position: it is situated in a residential and exclusive area, next to a wonderful green park, few minutes away from the ancient city centre, which is in heart of the city.
It is also near the Uffizi Gallery, the Ponte vecchio, Piazza Signoria, Santa Maria del Fiore, the Giotto bell-tower, Santa Croce and Pitti Palace.

The hill of Fiesole,the Fairs centre, sport facilities, the Mandela Forum and the railway station Campo di Marte are also easy to reach.

Palazzo Lombardo is located in the Campo di Marte area, in a strategic position both for people arriving by car and people arriving by other means of transport, intending to visit monuments, museums and the beautiful outskirts, such as the hill of Fiesole, considering that the historical centre is completely closed to traffic.

HOW TO REACH US

By train:
From the Campo di Marte Station:
Cross to your left the pedestrian railway overbridge, walk straight down in Viale Manfredo Fanti until you arrive in Viale dei Mille in front of Palazzo Lombardo ( 5 minutes ).

From the Santa Maria Novella Station:
Exit the station to your right ( having your shoulders towards the platforms ), take bus n. 17 ( direction stadium ), and get off at the Chiesa dei Sette Santi bus stop ( 15 minutes ). If you prefer you can take a taxi ( 10 minutes ).

By car:
Take the A1 and go out at Florence Sud exit. Follow the Florence centre direction, driving the whole motorway link. At the end turn to the left and follow the street along the Arno river. Following the Stadium indications turn to the right when you reach via De’ Sanctis. Cross the railway overbridge of the Affrico and turn to the left in viale Paoli. At its end you will find the beginning of viale dei Mille where Palazzo Lombardo is located.

By airplane:
Arriving in Peretola airport you can take a taxi ( 20 minutes ) or the bus up to the Santa Maria Novella station.

If you stay more than 3 nights you will only be charged of one night every 3 nights reserved.
